Just about everywhere, it feels like. And, as you might know, we’ve been busy working on this book and this new issue of 111O (about both of which more soon). But we thought, by way of reintroduction, we’d give you a few (fifteen) snapshots (artificially filtered Instagram photographs) of our travels this summer. So far this fall we’ve been in London for Free Verse, and there’s more travel in the near future for us, too—see here for details.
we landed here
and then headed by train to
and then took the train up the coast,
which looked like this for a while, until it got brighter:
after which there was some fog (which was to be expected):
the train stations were generally pleasing to spend time in
(Seattle’s was like a wedding cake!)
back in the middle of the country for a while
and then, in Philadelphia, an impromptu tour of a graveyard
New York was 90% wandering, 10% books
in Massachusetts our friend took us to see H.D. Thoreau
we happened across R. Frost’s farm while
driving through New Hampshire (& thus missed the tolls)
spent time with friends in gardens & fields
saw mountains at the border of Maine
returned to central Minnesota, where the heat & light made the land fade
and then finally came home to Ghent
…from which we hail you today, reader, and thank you for bearing with our silence while we were away from this space. We have lots happening this year. We hope you’ll stick around.
